Alice? Who the hell is Alice?

C – We stocked up on extra supplies in Alice Springs due to the long ride through the desert to Laverton. With extra fuel, water and food, poor Rosie now weighs a ton and she certainly felt it as we slugged our way out of town.

T – While there were fuel stops along the Great Central Road it isn’t guaranteed that they will actually have fuel! So better to be safe than sorry. We would carry enough fuel to make it 600 kms.

C – We were both excited to see Uluru and Kata-Tjuta again and zoomed down the highway towards the turn off at Erldunda roadhouse.

The ride itself was not too exciting, just down the busy Stuart Highway, but the desert scenery was quite special.

We found ourselves a lovely little free camp on the Lasseter Highway towards Uluru. The evening was beautiful but the sheer number of pesky flies saw us retreating into the tent before sunset.

T – The camp site was gorgeous. Red dirt, some trees and a only a few other campers spread out. I love the desert out here. There’s something magical about it.

C – Tomorrow, we will make it to Yulara where we will catch up with some friends for the evening.

Hi guys it’s great to still receive email updates to read your blog. So glad you are home still travelling. I have to ask though as we are planning an Atlantic Canada to Western US trip next year what type of chairs and tent you are using that has lasted all this time on your journey?

Hope you are taking time out to see some friends and family while home. Safe journeys.šŸ˜ŠšŸ–’
